Jenny Sabin: Chris Gassaway
This is some work by Francois Roche... he uses scripting to generate his forms and also uses 3d milling/printing machines to physically manifest the generated forms. his website is here.
Chris, Great to see that you are doing some research on other artists and designers that make use of algorithmic and rule-based systems in their work. I am a big fan of Roche's work. Computation and rule-based systems are simply tools to facilitate larger design concepts that are rooted in spatial relationships with nature and technology. Many of his interventions and architectural works play with our own fears that are associated with nature, technology, robotics, machines, etc.
